A good field of 18 drivers for the Honda Clubman.
Qualifying again this was not great I only managed 12th and was off the pace.
Heat 1 :- 8 laps Starting 12th from the start I put in a good race and made up 2 places but ran out of laps.
Heat 2 :- 8 laps Starting form 8th I really pushed hard and again made up another 2 places. The final grid positions were an average of these two races which put me 9th for the final.
The Final 12 laps – Saw me start in 9th I drove the best race ever so far at the Bayford circuit. It took a couple of laps to warm the tyres and then the overtaking started I made up 2 places over the next 2 laps. Now lying 7th I pushed on and again made up 2 more places over the next 3 laps.
Now in 5th with a large gap to 4th I pushed closing the gap on every lap until the last lap signal. I still had some work to do but coming out of the last bend and up to the rise I made my move to finally finish 4th and a podium place.
Next Round is January 2014 – So practice now through the winter.
F6 Championship Presentation this weekend taking my kart up to put on display and collect my Trophy – yippee!!
I unfortunately had to miss practice on Saturday as my kart had no brakes. Dad rushed around to find a new brake caliper. With several phone calls on Friday Dad located one but had to drive to Blackbushe to collect it. Good news kart was up and running by late Saturday afternoon.
Sunday here we come. I am currently lying 4th and needed a good solid performance to keep this position but also try and push for 3rd.
I qualified 12th which meant I had my work cut out. Heat 1 from 12th I moved up to 6th this meant I would start the pre final in 6th place.
In the pre final I gained another place to 5th. I started the final in 5th made up a place only to lose a place and finally finish 5th on the day. I consolidated my 4th place in the championship.
Bring on the final round – double points up for grabs.
Next Round: Weekend of 14th and 15th December 2013.
